Kingery Durree Wakeman & O’Donnell, Assoc. was founded when Art Kingery joined Bob Strodel to form the firm of Strodel and Kingery, Assoc. in 1969. Ed Durree joined the firm in 1975, and the firm name was changed to Strodel Kingery & Durree, Assoc. Steve Wakeman and Phil O’Donnell joined the firm in 1981 and 1984, respectively.

In 1992, the firm name was changed to Kingery Durree Wakeman & O’Donnell, Assoc. Phil ODonnell joined the firm in 1994, becoming a partner in 2008. Chris Sokn joined the firm in 2008. In 2019, Art Kingery became Of Counsel with the firm.

Kingery Durree Wakeman & O’Donnell, Assoc. concentrates its practice in litigation, for both plaintiff and defense clients. The firm litigates personal injury, wrongful death, and Wokers Compensation matters, as well as medical and legel malpractice, products liability, E.R.I.S.A., probate and fiduciary duty, insurance coverage, the defense of school law (including special education issues), appellate practice, family law, and general practice.

The firm is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of Illinois, as well as the Federal District Court for the Central District of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. We handle appeals in the Illinois Appeallate Courts, the Supreme Court of Illinois, and the federal Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

As well as being a member, Art Kingery sits on the Advisory Board of the Leading Lawyers Network–the listing of attorneys most frequently recommended by their peers throughout the state and approved by the Leading Lawyers Network Advisory Board. Steve Wakeman and Phil O’Donnell are members of the Leading Lawyers Network. Chris Sokn is a member of the Emerging Lawyers of the Leading Lawyers Network.
